திரு. மணிகண்டன், விருதுநகர், சாத்தூர், புதுப்பாளையம் பகுதியை சேர்ந்தவர். வயது 19, இவர் தந்தை சேகர், ஓட்டுனராக பணி புரிகிறார். தாயார் மகேஸ்வரி.
இவருக்கு இரண்டு சகோதரிகள். குடும்பத்தின் சூழ்நிலை காரணமாக மணிகண்டனும் வேலைக்கு செல்ல வேண்டிய சூழ்நிலை. எனவே இவரும் தந்தையை போலவே ஓட்டுனராக பணி புரிந்தார். கடந்த 7 மாதங்களுக்கு முன் சேலத்தில் இருந்து பெங்களூருக்கு இவர் லாரி ஒட்டி செல்லும் பொது வண்டியில் பழுது ஏற்பட்டதால் வண்டிக்கு அடியில் சென்று அதை சரி செய்து கொண்டு இருந்திருக்கிறார். அப்போது பின்னல் வந்த பேருந்து லாரியில் மோதியதால் பலத்த விபத்துக்கு உள்ளான மணிகண்டனுக்கு முதுகு தண்டுவடம் முழுதுமாக பாதிக்கப் பட்டு படுத்த படுக்கையானார். சேலம் தரன் பல்நோக்கு மருத்துவமனையில் அறுவை சிகிச்சையும் செய்யப்பட்டது. தற்போது ஒன்றரை மாதங்களாக கோவை சிறுவாணியில் உள்ள ஷீஷா காருண்யா ரூரல் கம்யுனிட்டி ஹெல்த் மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப் பட்டு சிகிச்சை பெற்று வருகிறார். அறுவை சிகிச்சை செய்யப்பட்ட அவருக்கு தற்போது பிசியோதெரபி சிகிச்சையும் வழங்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

அவர் மீண்டும் எழுந்து நடமாட வேண்டுமென்றால் இரு கால்களிலும் காலிபர் என்ற கருவி பொருத்தப்பட்டு நடப்பதற்கு தொடர்ந்து பயிற்சி அளிக்க வேண்டும் என்றும், அதற்கு 8000 ரூபாய் செலவாகும் என்றும் மருத்துவர்கள் சொல்லி விட்டனர். அதற்கு வசதி இல்லாததால் அந்த கருவியை வாங்க பணம் தந்து தங்கள் குடும்பத்திற்கு உதவி செய்யும் படி அவரது பெற்றோர் ஈரநெஞ்சம் அமைப்பை கேட்டுக் கொண்டனர்.
அவருக்கு சிகிச்சை அளித்த மருத்துவர் திரு. ஜெஷ்பர் தாஸ் அவர்களிடம் மணிகண்டனின் நிலை மற்றும் சிகிச்சை , மேலும் அவரது குடும்ப சூழ்நிலை பற்றி கலந்தாலோசித்து, அவருக்கு உதவி செய்ய ஈரநெஞ்சம் அறங்காவலர்கள் முடிவு செய்தனர். அதன்படி 12-03-2014 அன்று அவருக்கு காலிபர் கருவி ஈரநெஞ்சம் அமைப்ப்பின் மூலம் வழங்கப்பட்டது.

தற்போது அவர் மூலம் நடை பயிற்சி மேற்கொண்டு வருகிறார். எதிர்காலமே கேள்விக் குறியாய் ஆன நிலையில் அவர் மீண்டும் நடமாட உதவியதாக அவரது பெற்றோர் ஈரநெஞ்சம் அமைப்புக்கு நெகிழ்வுடன் நன்றி தெரிவித்துக் கொண்டனர். அவர் சிகிச்சை பலன் பெற்று நல்ல முறையில் நடமாடி மீண்டும் அவர்களது குடும்பத்திற்கு உறுதுணையாக இருக்க எல்லாம் வல்ல இறைவனை பிரார்த்திப்போம்.

Mr. Manikandan lives in Viruthu Nagar, Sathur, Puthupalaiyam area. He is 19 years old, his father Sekar working as a driver, mother Maheswary and has two sisters. Due to the family situation Manikandan also needed to work and he also became a driver as his father. Seven months ago while he was driving his lory from Selam to Bangalore, the vehicle broke down. He went underneath the vehicle and tried to fix it. At that time a bus came so fast and crashed into the lory. Manikandan injured so badly and his whole spinal code got injured which made him bed ridden. He had a surgery at the Selam Multipurpose Hospital. One and a half months ago he has been admitted and receiving treatment at Sheesha Karunya Rural Community Health center in Coimbatore. After the surgery he is currently undergoing physio therapy treatment. If Manikandan wants to get up on his two feet and walk around, he needs to have the equipment called caliber fixed to his both legs and be trained to get used to it. Doctors said that it would cost 8000 rupees for it. Having financial difficulties,his parents requested the Eera Nenjam Trust to help them.

The trustees of Eera Nenjam trust contacted Manikandan's treating doctor Mr. Jesfer Dhas and discussed with him about Manikandan's treatment, current condition and about his family situation. After the discussion The trustees of the Eera Nenjam Trust decided to help him. According to that on 12.03.2014 the caliber equipment was donated to Manikandan by the Eera Nenjam Trust. Now he is equipped with it and getting the training to walk with them. The parents of Manikandan gratefully thanked the Eera Nenjam Trust for getting him back on his legs when his future was in question.

Let us pray to God that Manikandan gets full recovery from the treatment and gets back on his feet again and be supportive to his family.
